Standard aluminum sheets have width limitations, while extra‑wide panels are usually required in small quantities, which makes custom‑ordering oversized aluminum sheets uneconomical. Reliable splicing technology is widely adopted in the industry to manufacture extra‑wide aluminum honeycomb panels. Large‑size panels can be customized with guaranteed flat surface and structural strength.
The splicing procedure mainly consists of two stages: aluminum honeycomb core splicing and aluminum face‑sheet splicing. First, standard honeycomb core blocks are precisely aligned and closely bonded. All joints are arranged in a staggered pattern to eliminate continuous weak seams and improve overall bending and compression resistance.
Second, aluminum face‑sheets are joined. Brushed or pre‑coated aluminum sheets are adopted. Edges are precisely milled to achieve minimum gaps between panels. Two sheets are firmly bonded to distribute surface stress and avoid warping or joint separation caused by thermal expansion and contraction afterwards.
The honeycomb cores and face‑sheets are then glued together and cured as an integrated panel.
The circular panel in the picture has a diameter of 1778 mm, customized for stone‑topped table lamination. We specialize in non‑standard honeycomb panel customization. Welcome to contact Mingtu Honeycomb.
